Big Data is driving change in every aspect of healthcare, from diagnostics to treatments, but when it comes to improving the patient experience many providers are still relying on guesswork. At MedStatix, we’re proud to be leading the way in data-powered insights for improving the patient experience and developing more patient-centered care.
Last month, we arrived at a major milestone that has enhanced our patient experience research. We collected more than 1 million validated patient experience surveys from the patients of over 20,000 providers in all 50 states. Our patient experience data base is continuing to grow at a rapid pace, with more than 150,000 new completed surveys each month. And that is giving us a lot of useful insights into the key drivers of patient satisfaction for providers across the country.
What our data scientists have found over and over again is that doctor-patient communication is at the heart of patient perceptions of a practice. Drawing from the data of over 1 million surveys, we’ve compiled research to examine how communication can affect patient loyalty, the likelihood of word-of-mouth recommendations, and even health outcomes. By digging into the data, providers can discover simple improvements that can go a long way to boost the health of their practice.
